Tim & Chris Bagwell

For several decades, Tim and Chris Bagwell have faithfully served as missionaries throughout Latin America, dedicating their lives to sharing the love of Christ and meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the communities they encounter. Their ministry has taken root in a wide range of settings—from remote villages to urban centers—where they have built meaningful relationships and demonstrated the Gospel through both word and deed.

With a heart for discipleship and community transformation, the Bagwells have been involved in church planting, leadership training, and humanitarian outreach. Their work often includes providing practical support such as food distribution, medical assistance, educational resources, and support for families and children in need. They are deeply committed to empowering local believers, raising up indigenous leaders, and fostering sustainable growth within the local church.

Tim and Chris continue to be a source of encouragement and hope, guided by their unwavering faith and compassion. Their decades-long ministry has left a lasting impact across Latin America, touching countless lives and expanding the reach of the Gospel through love, service, and the power of God's Word.

New Beginnings International Training Center provides outreach programs in a rural community in the mountains above Montego Bay. These include after-school reading classes, a remedial summer school program for primary students, and an August first grade readiness review for low-performing basic school graduates. They also have a lunch feeding program and student sponsorship for two local basic schools. In addition, a residential mentorship program for young men 18-21 is offered.

Announcement: A New Chapter for Bryan Hutson

Transition is always an interesting time, and for Bryan Hutson, it marks the beginning of a new chapter back in the United States. After faithfully serving for 25 years as the EFI representative to Nicaragua, Bryan is returning home.

His next adventure takes him to Florence, South Carolina, where he will be teaching high school Spanish in the public school system. We are deeply grateful for his decades of dedication and service abroad, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will make in this new role.

This move also brings a significant change for his wife, Mily. Having been born and raised in Latin America, she is stepping into a new experience—living full-time in a country she has previously only visited. We celebrate this new journey for both Bryan and Mily, and we invite you to join us in supporting and encouraging them as they begin this exciting season together.

Michael April Havlin.jpg

Michael & April Havlin

EFI Missionaries Mike and April Havlin serve in Nicaragua, Honduras, and Bolivia. The Havlin's have planted multiple churches in Central America. One in Managua, Nicaragua is called Iglesia Cristiana Koinonia. It continues to grow again after more than half of our congregation has fled the country in the last few years. The Havlin's are also part of a bible-teaching radio program that reaches across Central America. In La Honda, Nicaragua, the Havlin's are supporting the building a structure to house a local congregation that has been meeting under a tree. Mike is the president of the local NGO board which allows him to travel to other places to minister and teach. Iquitos, Peru at the headwaters of the Amazon River basin is one of those places. The Havlin's planted a church there many years ago, and it is a thriving community of believers. April continues to be used greatly in the leadership of House of Hope International in Nicaragua and Honduras. They create hope and solutions for women being brought out of human trafficking and prostitution.
