  • George & Phyllis Crispi

In 2012, the Crispis sold all they owned and moved to Malawi. Phyllis taught women and George taught children and, later, men as well. They brought the gospel through the showing of the Jesus Film, and taught from village to village. The Crispis' full time work spread from two villages, to five, then seven, and ultimately to the thirty one in which they, and those they’ve been discipling, now work. They’ve constructed seven church buildings, six of which also house our six Christian preschools and kindergartens. Current enrollment with those schools is now over 450 four and five year olds. Many of the students come from Muslim families, and they have received testimonies of children leading parents to the Lord. The area in which they work, about fifty square miles, is quite remote, lacks any government services, and is extremely impoverished. They have, over time, become the only community development resource the villages have ever known. Since the beginning of their work in Malawi, they've restored about seventy broken wells, and since 2016, drilled sixteen new ones. They've also been building both vehicular and foot bridges, which enable children to attend school, women to get to market, the maize mill and clinic year round, even throughout the heavy rains, when many rivers overflow their banks. Ten bridges have been built, and even more are in planning. Since earlier 2019, the Crispis have been conducting the first year of a two year certificate program through Global University of the Assemblies of God. The twelve Bible school students are all villagers and also our village pastors and area evangelists.
